Guan Zhao-Zhi Award

Guan Zhao-Zhi Award was established in 1994 to memorize and honor Professor Guan Zhao-Zhi and to promote the development of control theory in China. Professor Guan Zhao-Zhi (Kwan Chao-Chih) was an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a world famous mathematician and expert on control theory. He dedicated his whole life to the research and development of mathematics, and systems and control science, and made significant contributions to these fields.

Purpose: To recognize outstanding papers published on the annual Chinese Control Conference.

Prize: Certificate, and RMB5000.

Funding: Funded by the Guan Zhao-Zhi Fundation.


  1. The first author of the paper must be under 40 years old at the time when the paper is submitted (birthday after March 1, 1969)
  2. The results of the papers must be original, not published elsewhere

Basis: Originality, potential impact on the theoretical foundations of control, importance and practical significance in applications, and clarity.

Procedure: Applications must be made by the first author throuth PaperPlaza.

  1. Download the application form, and fill it out
  2. Submit the form (in pdf format) for Guan Zhao-Zhi Award by following: Start => Submit a paper or session proposal links. Then submit the application by clicking the "Submit" link at the item "Guan Zhao-Zhi Award Application".

Important Information:

  • One paper can't apply for both the Guan Zhao-Zhi (GZZ) Award and the Best Student-Paper (BSP) Award simultaneously. If you decide to apply for the Best Student Paper Award later, your application will be withdrawn automatically.
  • Papers in invited sessions can also apply for GZZ award.
  • If the paper is selected into the final list, you will be asked to provide a scanned copy of your ID card (or passport, etc.), which verifies your age, through email:
  • There will be a special additional evening session for GZZ Award on the first day of the conference. Papers in the final list will be presented twice. Once as the conference regular presentation and the other time is in this additional GZZ award session. Papers not presented in the GZZ evening session will be disqualified from the award competition.
