University of Texas at Dallas is one of nine campuses in
the University of Texas system and is located in the heart of the Telecom
Corridor, which is the second largest high-tech economy in the United States
after Silicon Valley. UT-Dallas has grown since its founding in 1969 to become
recognized by Times Higher Education magazine as one of the most
outstanding universities in the world under 50 years old. The Erik Jonsson
School of Engineering and Computer Science at UTD was started in 1986 and has
become the premier engineering research school in North Texas. The Jonsson
School at UTD is proud to be a sponsor of the 2012 IEEE CDC.
The College of Engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa is very pleased to support the 51st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control in beautiful Maui. The College of Engineering provides the only full spectrum, higher education program in engineering in Hawaii and is proud to include in its partners all of the constituent campuses of the University of Hawaii System in its Engineering Consortium that supports the graduation of engineers over all Hawaii. The College wishes the 51st CDC a great success and hopes that it provides a memorable, pleasurable and rewarding experience for all attendees.

Visual Solutions is the creator of VisSim world-class graphical software for model-based development of complex dynamic systems and embedded controllers. VisSim combines a powerful nonlinear dynamic simulation engine with OMG 2.1 compliant UML state charts to provide a comprehensive platform for model-based design.
Visual Solutions partnership with Texas Instruments extends VisSim’s power making it ideal for embedded development. VisSim/Embedded Controls Developer (VisSim/ECD) lets you rapidly create low-cost embedded controllers for Texas Instruments DSPs and microprocessors. VisSim/ECD provides support of on-chip peripherals like PWM, quadrature encoder, event capture, CAN, I2C, Serial, SPI, ADC and GPIO, allowing a faster and deeper coverage of commercial actuators, sensors and communication buses. VisSim HotLink technology lets you interactively change controller gains on the target from VisSim, and observe on-target signals like phase currents and internal controller signals in VisSim digital scopes. VisSim embedded projects are found in the cockpit of the Joint Strike Fighter, in the main control system of multi-megawatt wind turbines, electric vehicles and in medical respirators.
Since its founding in 1989, Visual Solutions has maintained a strong connection with the academic community. VisSim is used in classrooms and research laboratories at thousands of universities and colleges worldwide. Students and teachers report enhanced learning, faster progression through the course material and better retention.
