The purpose of the Distinguished Lecturers Program is to help IEEE Chapters, Sections, Student Groups, or Active Control Groups around the world provide interesting and informative lectures for their membership. Every year, the Society selects a list of Distinguished Lecturers. When one of these Chapters or Groups invites a Distinguished Lecturer to present a lecture or to participate in a workshop, the Control System Society covers a significant part of the expenses. Full details can be found on the corresponding web page.

In addition to the Distinguished Lecturers Program, the Society also provides financial support (at a more modest level) for IEEE/CSS Chapters to organize activities and/or workshops. This support is organized through the Local Area Support System Program (LASS). Full details can be found on the corresponding web page.

The aim of the Travel Support Program is to help IEEE members from a selected list of countries to attend the annual Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) or the Conference on Control Applications (CCA). This is a new program that has been approved by the Board of Governors in 2000 to start in 2001. Full details about the program and the application procedures can be found on the corresponding web page.
