Local Area Support System (LASS)
In prior years, the established procedure to use the LASS Program for the Chapters of the IEEE Control Systems Society has been as follows:
- The Chapter will contact the Chair of Chapters or the Vice President of Membership and schedule an event a few months before it is to occur.
- A Grant of $1,000 can then be made available to the Chapter with the approval of the Vice President of Membership. This is a grant and is not paid back to the Society.
- After the event is conducted, it is customary for the Chapter to report on the activities conducted and how the $1,000 was used.
- Please note, the Distinguished Lecture Program has also been used in conjunction with this resource capability to augment the support to the local Chapter to hold an event.
- There is a limit of one grant per chapter per year and, perhaps, 5-7 grants available in any one year for all the chapters.
