Control Systems Society Transition to Practice Award Description: To recognize outstanding university-industry collaboration that enables the transition of control and systems theory to practical industrial or commercial systems. Prize: $2,000, plaque for each recipient, and travel expenses to the MSC for one recipient (round trip restricted (minimal) coach air fare, conference registration, and three conference-rate hotel-nights). If the prize is awarded to a group, members of the group will equally split the cash portion of the prize and one will deliver a lecture at next year’s MSC. Funding: Funded by the IEEE Control Systems Society and other sponsors. Eligibility: Either an individual or a team. Presentation: At the MSC.
A nomination letter and up to 4 additional supporting letters (maximum of 5 letters) describing the outstanding contribution should be sent to the Chair of the Control Systems Society Transition to Practice Award Committee by May 15. The nomination should include information indicating the importance of the pioneering collaborative research that led to successful outcomes to real practical systems, the key innovation, and the justification of its value to the society at large.
