MAB Programs

The MAB Programs include the

i.    Distinguished Lecturers Program,

ii.    Local Area Support System Program (LASS),

iii.    CSS Developing Nations Conference Support Program, and

iv.    Outreach Fund Program.

The purpose of the Distinguished Lecturers Program is to help IEEE Chapters, Sections, Student Groups, or Active Control Groups around the world provide interesting and informative lectures for their membership. Every year, the Society selects a list of Distinguished Lecturers. When one of these Chapters or Groups invites a Distinguished Lecturer to present a lecture or to participate in a workshop, the Control System Society covers a significant part of the expenses. Full details can be found on the corresponding web page.

In addition to the Distinguished Lecturers Program, the Society also provides financial support (at a more modest level) for IEEE/CSS Chapters to organize activities and/or workshops. This support is organized through the Local Area Support System Program (LASS). Full details can be found on the corresponding web page.

The CSS Developing Nations Conference Support Program, which was approved at the December '10 IEEE CSS Board of Governors' Meeting for the years 2011-2014 with the budget $40000p.a., will fund reduced registration costs for any attendee from a developing nation who attends an MSC or CDC held in a developing nation.

The aim of the Outreach Fund Program, which is managed by a committee of 5 – 7 members, headed by the chair of the CSS Task Force on Outreach (as appointed by the CSS Board of Governors), is intended to provide financial resources for projects that will benefit CSS and the controls community in general.
