TC-SC Session (CDC 2022)

Management and Control Strategies for Emerging Mobility Systems in Smart Cities

Description

An invited session in CDC 2022, December 6-9, 2022, Cancún, Mexico

Abstract:

This invited session brings together innovative contributions on mobility management and control in the context of Smart Cities. This topic is of particular relevance not only for its potential impact on people’s quality of life but also for the methodological challenges associated with the complexity of the systems to be controlled. In fact, the dynamics of systems that allow the mobility of passengers and freight are quite complex, and the associated modeling and control problems are very challenging. In addition, the introduction of new technologies in the automotive market, e.g., electric vehicles and connected and automated vehicles, as well as the presence of sophisticated sensing and communication tools, requires a review of established control models and techniques.

This invited session will address these aspects, with six scientific contributions dedicated to the definition of innovative models and control schemes to implement emerging mobility systems in Smart Cities.

Organizers: Cecilia Pasquale, Christos G. Cassandras and Andreas Malikopoulos
